Russian police have found a 5-year-old girl who has been shut up in a flat in the company of cats and dogs for her entire life. The girl, who lived in the Eastern Siberian city of Chita, could not speak Russian and acted like a dog when police took her into care. For five years, the girl was 'brought up' by several dogs and cats and had never been outside. The unwashed girl was dressed in filthy clothes, had the clear attributes of an animal and jumped at people. The flat had no heat, water or sewage system. The girl, known as Natasha, is being monitored by sychologists in an orphanage. Her mother was being questioned but her father has not been found yet. She appears to be about two years old, though her real age is five. She refuses to eat with a spoon and has taken on many of the gestures of the animals with which she lived. When carers leave the room, the girl jumps at the door and barks.

Police rescued three men who were chained like dogs at their necks and feet to a wall and beaten. They were only given five slices of bread everyday few days and water from a small tap connected to their makeshift six-by-seven metre cells, each with an open toilet. The three men were held in an unoccupied shoplot in Seri Kembangan, for two months as they could not pay their loans which ranged from RM1,500 to RM4,000. The police were led to the shoplot by two loan sharks who were arrested in Kepong. Firemen used an electric chainsaw to cut through the 6kg chains. The loan sharks contacted the victims' families and demanded they settle the loans if they wanted to see their loved ones again. The captives sobbed uncontrollably when they saw the rescue party.

7-legged Calf

A veterinary hospital helped deliver a seven-legged calf on Thursday, 21st May 2009. The staff said the Black Angus calf, which was delivered by Caesarean section, had two spines but one head. One leg also had two hooves.The calf lived for only about 10 minutes. Veterinarian says the birth resulted from an incomplete splitting of the embryo into twins.

For the weaker ones, we have no choice but to put them to sleep. Yeap managed to save a dog she foung trapped in the mud. The dog , since named Hope.
